Sunderland Council Deploys Ctrack Vehicle Tracking

scc-100x53

Sunderland City Council installed Ctrack’s advanced vehicle tracking solution across 370 vans, road sweepers and refuse trucks within its building, maintenance and support services fleet. A server-based solution was selected that provides added speed and responsiveness over alternative web-based options.

 Features

• Real-time and historical data
• Work scheduling & routeing
• Accident management
• Panic alarms

    Benefits

• 13% fuel savings
• Reduced environmental impact
• Enhanced work flow management
• Improved employee protection

Vehicle Tracking

Ctrack’s vehicle tracking system has provided Sunderland City Council with added insight into its fleet operation by providing real-time and historical data that has contributed to better management of mobile resources. By effectively tracking the mixed fleet of vehicles, the council has achieved a range of measurable business and operational benefits.

Fuel Management

Fuel management was identified as a key aspect of the solution, with Sunderland City Council seeking to minimise usage and reduce the environmental impact of its fleet. Ctrack has enabled the council to monitor and capture real-time movements to ensure vehicles are driven efficiently, avoid unnecessary journeys and remain on-route, resulting in fuel savings of up to 13%.

Workflow Management

Ctrack has helped Sunderland City Council to optimise workflow management by accessing real-time and historical fleet data that provides an overview of vehicle status and resource availability. This added visibility and insight has enabled the council to effectively schedule planned work and allocate ad hoc jobs to the most suitable mobile team.

Employee Protection

Ctrack has helped streamline accident management by providing access to accurate historical data detailing vehicle movements. This information – including location, speed and direction – will assist in the investigation of vehicle incidents, protecting the council and its mobile workforce against fraudulent claims. Each vehicle has also been fitted with remote panic alarms, providing added security to lone employees especially those working late night shifts.

"What our customers say"

“Ctrack’s tracking system has already contributed to driving down our fuel costs and we expect to achieve further business and operational benefits moving forward. We have worked closely with Ctrack to develop a tracking solution that will enhance the overall performance of our fleet and ultimately heighten the service we provide to our customers.”
